Classy, retro restaurant with great vibe. Reminds you of a place the Rat Pack would have hung out and has really interesting and quirky art -- trying to figure out what is going on in the painting with the butler is good fun and you could spend hours looking at the huge painting over the bar. The bar is beautiful to look at with great drinks. The truffle burger with truffle fries is fabulous and worth every penny and every calorie. Read more ...

Bix swept me off my feet.
The experience at Bix starts with walking down Gold street and finding its dark sultry entrance tucked away from the hustle and bustle of North Beach. You walk in to beautiful music, an exquisite bar, art deco and find yourself miles away from where you started.
My meal was fanastic. We started with mozarella wrapped in prosciutto and I opted for the Duck Breast and quinoa salad, which I really enjoyed. They have such a great menu and wine list and it was so hard for me to decide. Dessert was necessary and I fell in love with the vanilla semifreddo with stone fruit.
If you are looking for a romantic, yet bustling restaurant with an atmosphere of a 1940s club you've found it. The food is excellent and many traditional dishes have added tasty twists. Read more ...
